About Us

Our History

The Garden City Lands consist of 136.5 acres bounded by Garden City Road on the west, Alderbridge Way on the north, No. 4 Road on the east and Westminster Highway on the south. They are located within the traditional territory of the Musqueam Indian Band, who have had use of them for 4000 years. The name of the Garden City Conservation Society comes from the name “Garden City” by which Richmond was known because its many small farms were like a vast garden, producing food for the Vancouver area.
